Inverness – Scotland’s sustainable travel city
Partners in Inverness have worked to deliver a vision of the city being a welcoming place to visit where people can easily access a range of sustainable transport services ensuring the city can proudly boast of being Scotland’s sustainable travel city.
The partners driving this vision are Highland Council, Stagecoach North Scotland and HITRANS. Examples of how we are delivering this vision include: 1.Being the first city in the UK with a fully electric bus network. 2.
Delivering Bus Priority Measures with funds secured through the Scottish Government’s Bus Partnership Fund.

Establishing a strong Bus Service Improvement Partnership Board 4.
Delivering a network of active travel infrastructure across the city. 5.
Building an extensive network of mobility hubs anchored by a 24/7 public e-bike system. 6.Introducing EV Car Clubs anchored by public sector carpools/ 7.
Improving sustainable travel to the main regional Airport with a new Rail Station and active travel infrastructure. 8.
Providing a home to the UK’s largest regional MaaS Platform - GO-HI 9.
Incentivizing sustainable travel through rewards including a Betterpoints program and free travel for those using GO-Hi from Inverness Airport Station to Inverness Airport Terminal 10.
