Wienerberger Load Optimisation Through our continuous dematerialisation efforts, we have reduced the weight of our UK manufactured bricks.

This created an opportunity to review brick pack weights and pack configurations, enabling us to ensure optimum load capacity whilst keeping maximum focus on the safety of packs on each load, and the health and safety of delivery drivers and operatives. Furthermore, in order to use every last inch of vehicle capacity, we’ve differentiated our load sizes by vehicle type, creating an optimised load for vehicles with and without mechanical offload.

To help our customers with our change we have invested heavily in developing our order processing systems so that we can automatically check the customer order quantity matches the optimum load size each time we receive an order.

If there’s a mismatch, we’ll proactively contact our customer to let them know, so we can make sure every delivery makes the minimum carbon impact possible. This project has transformed the business making cost savings, maximising profit and streamlining processes through collaboration, communication and commitment from all Wienerberger colleagues and partners.
