Urban-Air Port – Worlds First Vertiport

In April 2022 the world’s first Urban Air-Port opened in Coventry.

A demonstrated project to effectively prove the concept of vertical take-off and landing in an urban area.

The project funded by Innovate UK was supported by Coventry City Council, which already had a reputation for its innovation in transport.

The Urban Air-Port is described as ‘ground infrastructure as a service’ for future air mobility.

It is an ultra-compact, rapidly deployable, multi- functional operations hub for manned and unmanned vehicles, including drones.

It can also provide aircraft command and control for Emergence services, charging/refuelling, cargo and passenger loading, and other mission specific facilities.
