The Falkland Islands Company

The Falkland Islands Government and the Ministry of Defence signed a joint venture housing contract in late 2021.

The contract agrees to the construction of 70 houses on the Falkland Islands.

The Falkland Islands Company (FIC), including sister company Falkland Islands Trading Company (FITC), the Government appointed entity handling the project, secured the services of Seafast Logistics, as a recognised expert, and sole commercial supplier of shipping services to and from the Falklands, to handle the full logistical requirements from origin in UK to final delivery in the Falklands.

Core elements within the scope of services offered by Seafast to FITC are receipt and consolidation of the building components from multiple suppliers, loading into shipping containers, and delivery to port for shipment on the MoD service to the Falklands.

The process, whilst relatively simple, is proven to be robust and delivers the required level of high quality service to both the Falkland Islands Government and MoD.
