MTS Cleansing Ltd improves safety with FORS Professional training

MTS Cleansing Services Ltd (shortened to MTS for the purpose of this nomination) is a family-run business owned by its founders Chairman Keith Crust and his brother and Vice Chairman Brian Crust.

Starting the company in 1986, the brothers have grown the company from servicing local domestic customers with just one vehicle to becoming recognised as the leading UK waste management and recycling company. MTS offers a comprehensive range of domestic, commercial and industrial waste management services.

With seven depots, a good risk management plan is key for MTS to ensure the vehicles and drivers coming onto their sites all meet a good standard and are all continuously striving to be even better.

Poor risk management can end up costing businesses more than just their operator licence by putting their employees’, and vulnerable road users’, lives at risk.

In recognition of this, the team at MTS set their sights on achieving the highest levels of best practice through requiring high levels of training amongst their drivers and supervisory staff, as well as acquiring the coveted FORS Gold Accreditation to demonstrate they are operating safely, efficiently and in an environmentally friendly manner.
