GS Yuasa, the world’s leading battery manufacturer, opened its new state-of-the-art facility at Ignition Park, Swindon in Autumn 2023.

The site acts as the headquarters for GS Yuasa Battery Europe and the sales and distribution centre for GS Yuasa Battery Sales UK.

The site, which provides products to customers in the UK and Europe is the conclusion of an extensive planning strategy and comprehensive project execution to create a facility that sets new industry standards. The 178,500 square foot site showcases GS Yuasa’s advanced technology including a range of automation technologies.

Their AGV shuttle system is the only one of its kind in the UK and second globally.

The new facility incorporates the latest advancements in warehouse systems, particularly the innovative automated pallet shuttle racking, operated by AGV reach trucks and pick tunnels, significantly improving order processing capacity and operational efficiency.

With dedicated charging facilities, as well as an e-commerce picking area with specialist packing equipment, the development ensures the highest levels of service are continuously met.
