London Borough of Waltham Forest’s accessible EV Charging Network

The London Borough of Waltham Forest has been delivering our network of EV charging infrastructure in line with our published Electric Vehicle (EV) charging point strategy.

In Summer 2024 we installed our 1,000th charging sockets and have planned to increase this to 2,500 within the next two years.

We have established a considered approach to site selection, focus on accessibility of charging points for EV users and other roads users and track record of delivery against our own, regional, and national strategies. Waltham Forest Council was one of the first local authorities in the UK to declare a Climate Emergency in April 2019, and the delivery of EV charging infrastructure is a key component of Waltham Forest’s Climate Action Plan to enable the borough to each net-zero carbon emissions by 2030.
