Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust’s e-bikes initiative

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is supporting its colleagues to switch to e-bikes and e-cargo bikes as part of their daily work.

By empowering our staff to switch to bikes, we’re protecting the health of patients, hospital staff, and people living in our communities. We provide the opportunity to ride e-bikes to our community teams such as our @home service.

This includes nurses, therapists, doctors, pharmacists, and social workers who support patients to get home sooner or avoid hospital altogether, freeing up hospital beds. The use of e-bikes means that our staff are able to reach patients homes faster and provide the vital treatment they need, while boosting their health and wellbeing.

This alternative, sustainable mode of travel also decreases our carbon footprint.
