Green Biofuels
For over two years, Howard Tenens has worked in partnership with Green Biofuels Ltd (GBF) to foster a collaborative approach to sustainable supply chains.
What started as the trial of Gd+HVO, an advanced biofuel made from hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), as an alternative fuel to fossil-derived diesel, evolved into a full-scale rollout strategy across Howard Tenens' warehousing portfolio, as well as the installation of several of GBF’s Gd+HVO fuel tanks on its Sharpness site, and now even supports GBF’s distribution operations by introducing its own tankers to its fleet.
This ambitious expansion further showcases the scalability and effectiveness of the collaboration.
This partnership has exemplified a commitment to environmental responsibility and demonstrated remarkable achievements in reducing carbon emissions and ensuring fuel security.
The joint efforts to incorporate GBF’s low-emission drop-in alternative to fossil-derived diesel, Gd+HVO into HT’s fleet, expand its usage across multiple depots and provide additional refuelling opportunities for distribution partners to benefit all parties has significantly avoided carbon emissions (by up to 92% compared to fossil-derived diesel) and promoted environmental stewardship.
By leveraging this partnership, both HT and GBF have actively contributed to a more sustainable future and have paved the way for other industry players to follow suit.
