Abigail Fitzpatrick (Solent Group)

My Supply Chain journey began at Bournemouth University where I specialised my Business Studies degree in Operations and Project Management.

My passion for Supply Chain grew through learning about the theoretical application, leading me to apply for Supply Chain roles in my placement year.

Starting my Supply Chain career at GlaxoSmithKline as a Material Scheduler, my enthusiasm for the industry grew as I applied my knowledge to the role in practice.

Returning to university, I continued to work in Supply Chain as a Shipping and Dispatch Co-ordinator whilst writing my dissertation on Vendor Managed Inventory.

After completing my degree, I started at Solent Group as a Supply Chain Co-ordinator, where my role initially focused on reporting and managing micro projects.

In just over a year, I was promoted to Supply Chain Project Manager, now managing projects for the whole department.

In this new role I manage SAP optimisation and implementation projects and end-to-end Supply Chain Management optimisation.

After nine months, I moved into a new promotion as Group Operations Project Manager where I work with Supply Chain and the wider business to add more structure and process.

Fostering a continuous improvement culture and using DMAIC methodology to deliver projects.
