A Greater Cambridge transport network
The city of Cambridge and its surrounding area is a real success story.
It is growing, with a thriving economy, an abundance of tech and life sciences companies and world-class health facilities.
The Greater Cambridge Partnership has been working since 2015 to improve the way that people access the city and all it has to offer by giving them more choice about how they get around.
We have completed projects to improve walking and cycling, including Histon Road and Phase 1 of the Chisholm Trail, which are proving extremely popular with users.
The work doesn’t stop there: major schemes, including our Milton Road project (which will include Cambridge’s second CYCLOPS junction), are nearing completion, or in development, and these schemes will provide significant improvements to the walking, cycling and wheeling network in the city.
We have worked with local partners on a successful funding bid for electric buses which are in operation across the city, two of which we have directly funded, and we have projects underway to provide four new busways to help take car traffic off the roads.
This places Cambridge at the forefront of creating a sustainable transport network that is accessible to all.
