Two years ago, Hilton identified towel quality as our #1 opportunity to improve upon the guest experience.

Hilton Supply Management (HSM) leveraged this opportunity to reevaluate our legacy terry product and supplier through Source with Purpose—our global strategy to advance positive impact across supply chains.

In this reevaluation, HSM sought to ensure we were sourcing the raw materials, labor and manufacturing involved in terry production as responsibly as possible.

Specifically, we sought to: 1.

Value-engineer a responsible, sustainable, and inclusive terry program, aligned with Hilton’s Travel with Purpose 2030 goals 2.

Elevate product quality to enhance the guest experience 3.

Drive savings and pricing transparency 4.

Simplify inventory management 5.

Identify a viable end-of-life solution for retired product to drive zero waste In partnership with Sobel Linen—the MBE supplier awarded Hilton’s U.S.

terry contract—HSM successfully drove an upgrade of terry programs across all Hilton brands, reducing brand program SKUs by 60% and transitioning to new, higher-quality terry products that are softer, more durable, more cost-effective and fully aligned with Source with Purpose, from new freight and manufacturing efficiencies to the program’s zero waste solution donating end-of-life terry products for use at 580+ animal shelters across North America.
