Value delivered: YPO’s supply chain success leads to cross-departmental benefits

The YPO supply chain team is critical to the success of inventory management, ensuring that we can deliver what our customers need, when they need it. YPO faced recruitment challenges due to the return to normal operations and removal of Covid-19 restrictions in the UK.

To address this, YPO stepped up their recruitment efforts and successfully hired John Singleton as the new Strategic Supply Chain Lead. John recognised the need for strong leadership and people management skills within the supply chain team.

He focused on culture change and emphasised working to the team’s strengths.

Through observations, training, and feedback, a development and succession plan was created, enabling future growth. Implementing improved processes and enhanced system utilisation has resulted in many benefits.

The team’s confidence has increased while the supply chain team has gained visibility and built stronger relationships within the organisation. The success of the supply chain team under John’s leadership positioned YPO for a record-breaking year in 2023, establishing a Center of Excellence and fostering effective teamwork across various areas of the business.

The positive outcomes are expected to continue in 2024 with a new structure in the team implemented with support from HR and the union.
