Tom Dedman (GXO)
A rising star in the industry, Tom Dedman’s journey in logistics demonstrates the rapid career development available at GXO.
After the pandemic brought his previous role as a sports therapist to a halt, Tom joined GXO as a warehouse operative at a Waitrose site.
Shortly after, he successfully applied for a place on the GXO graduate programme and has subsequently seen his career flourish.
Alongside operational and functional placements, Tom completed the Transport Manager CPC, the IoSH Managing Safely Certificate and the CMI L3 in Leadership and Management apprenticeship, which have stood him in good stead for his career after the graduate programme.
Tom thrives on responsibility and stretch.
Early on, he was entrusted with the immense responsibility of the safety and performance of shifts for up to 200 colleagues at a new start-up site for a major UK supermarket.
Tom’s success in this role has ultimately resulted in him taking a key leadership role at a large RDC for Waitrose, where he originally started out.
Tom is truly committed to improving the wellbeing of individuals and his team.
He also remains focused on his own professional development and will soon begin a Supply Chain Leadership Degree Apprenticeship.
