RigiTech Drone Delivery

RigiTech, a leading Swiss drone manufacturer, has demonstrated the transformative potential of its Eiger drone in the European healthcare sector.

Collaborating with the TIC Salut Social Foundation, CTTI, BCN Drone Center, and the Olot and Garrotxa Regional Hospital Foundation, RigiTech showcased the Eiger drone’s BVLOS capabilities in medical logistics and emergency response. Co-founder and CEO Adam Klaptocz expressed excitement about contributing to Spain’s health system, highlighting the milestone of initiating a medical transport service in Catalonia.

The Eiger drone, reducing transport time by 60% and cutting the carbon footprint significantly, completed a flight from Vall d’en Bas to Olot Hospital in just 7 minutes. Upcoming pilot tests across Catalonia will further evaluate the drone’s benefits in transporting biological samples, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment, especially in rural areas.

These tests aim to improve medical transport efficiency, reduce costs, and lower CO2 emissions.

Joan Guanyabens of TIC Salut Social Foundation and Josep Maria Padrosa of Olot Hospital praised the initiative’s success in enhancing medical care and sustainability. Founded in 2018, RigiTech focuses on integrated drone delivery systems, with its drones approved for BVLOS operations on five continents, primarily serving the healthcare, offshore, and postal markets.
