How did Vanheede Environment Group solve truck congestion, reduce registration time and automate its truck operations on its site? Vanheede Environment Group is a waste management company that serves almost 20,000 clients and processes 1,122 tonnes of waste annually.

Their site in Rumbeke, Belgium, is a multi-business unit comprising a logistics hub and a treatment centre.

Over 150 trucks pass through the site every day, transporting goods in both inbound and outbound logistics flows. To solve their truck congestion, reduce registration time, and automate their truck operations, Vanheede implemented Peripass.

They installed a self-service kiosk at their site where truck drivers can register in their preferred language.

Once registered, they receive all communication through text messages, such as the pin code required to enter the site and the dock they need to go to.

With a weighing bridge integration, truck drivers can now autonomously weigh their trucks, which was previously a manual task managed by operators.

A control tower dashboard is now the centre of all operations management, allowing the dispatching of trucks, operators, and shunter drivers to their respective locations. Implementing Peripass relieved the workload and made the site more efficient, improving the truck throughput drastically.
