Lowpad marshalling solution for TJ Morris, Home Bargains
100% elimination of manual transport movements in the outbound process of Home Bargains (TJ Morris) Home Bargains has invested in Lowpad AMR technology, which is designed to transport existing load carriers like roll cages and open/closed pallets within distribution centres. The Lowpads solution has been implemented to automate the entire outbound process at Home Bargains’ facility in Amesbury.
This means that tasks such as moving goods from the order-picking area to the loading docks are now handled entirely by automated systems, eliminating the need for manual labour in these tasks. The solution is highly efficient, with 91 Lowpads transporting more than 200,000 roll containers per week from both the automated order picking system and manual picking operations to the loading docks.
At the loading docks, the Lowpads arrange the roll containers in the desired delivery sequence.
This streamlines the loading process and ensures that deliveries are organized for efficient transport to their destinations. This project between Home Bargains and Lowpad’s solution represents a pioneering leap in logistics automation, showcasing adaptability in the increasingly challenging labour market in the UK.
