Geekplus and Blueskye
Geekplus has partnered with BlueSkye Automation to deploy a fully automated smart warehouse solution powered by the Geekplus suite of Goods-to-Person mobile robots in the 3PL Ship8’s facility near the Port of Savannah.
Ship8 engaged Geekplus and BlueSkye to address a variety of pain points: labor savings, reduction in energy usage, space optimization, and ramp up ability during peak activity.
They also needed to ensure there was no single point of failure while creating the ability to handle a wide range of order sizes seamlessly.
The deployment helped the 3PL, which specializes in the ecommerce and wholesale fulfillment business, meet ballooning e-commerce sales and navigate severe labor shortages.
Together with BlueSkye, Geekplus updated the customer’s manual processes by deploying its Shelf-to-Person, Sorting and four-way shuttle Pallet-to-Person solutions alongside third-party conveyors, print & apply and robotic arms.
By harnessing the power of four different types of robot technology, the fully automated warehouse can now handle a range of order fulfillment types from both B2B and B2C orders to each pick and case picks.
BlueSkye Automation continues to provide ongoing support and service through their certified team of experts, continuing the deep collaboration necessary to make such an innovative warehouse automation project possible.
