Chill Chamber Re-imagined
Grocery retail is a big and fast-paced industry as people eat and drink everyday.
Yet it’s logistics operation is exceptionally manual as an industry, especially its handling of fresh goods (veggie, fruits, dairy etc.).
This typical operation is a “pick-to-zero” process where operators manually sort a pallet full of products into a “target pallet or roll cage” which then get shipped to stores.
It takes the name “pick-to-zero” as all goods arrived during the day need to go out end of the day – so nothing gets stored overnight. Our solution has the potential to totally re-imagin this process using robots.
Our solution is comprises of our AGI sorting robots and lifts.
An Operator can “induct” chill products, typically in cases, bins or just plastic packing, into sorting robots at fixed workstations.
Robots then carry them to a target destination, into store locations.
Lifts can be added to better utilize vertical space (e.g.
3 destinations on 3 levels).
It has the potential of saving up to 60% of the labour costs and can be twice as fast as its manual alternative.
