Arla Foods tertiary packaging development

“The Journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step”.- Lao Tzu, a Chinese Philosopher from around 500BC.

Following that principle, if we all make a small step, our journey towards Sustainability will be so much easier. Arla Foods is committed to its Sustainability journey.

Being a farmer owned cooperative, Arla is ideally placed to have control of the full value chain.

Arla Foods has committed to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 63% by 2030 from a 2015 baseline.

This is a demonstration of a small part of this journey and how each function of Arla Foods can play their role. This application is for the Sustainable Materials Award.

It shows how relatively small changes in tertiary packaging can add up to a large benefit for the company & the environment. This project has been a slow burn, but is now bringing continuous benefits to Arla Foods & helping us achieve our environmental targets.

Hartwall Oy Ab) have enabled us now to reap the rewards of the work done.

This is something that is giving us real benefits now, and will continue to do so.
