At The Very Group, we have been on a mission to develop an employee value proposition which aims to attract, retain and develop talent.

Having established several partnerships with learning providers, early careers specialists and charities, we have delivered our strategy to develop colleagues internally to fill key roles, promote from within, develop individuals into specialist skilled roles and attract new talent from local schools and colleges through our partnership with career ready and Mind the GAP charities.

We are incredibly proud that most of our promotions are from within, we have placed 35 individuals through leadership or technical apprenticeships, placed 180 warehouse colleagues through NVQ qualifications and have recently introduced an internally led development programme specifically for warehouse operatives.

We see the value in a diverse workforce and how everyone’s unique experiences and talents can benefit our organisation.

Across our fulfilment operations we have colleagues from over 12 diversity groups working across skilled and non skilled roles.

Our strategy has led to record low attrition levels and enabled us to continually develop the skills we need from within to stay at the forefront of the skills requirement to maintain an effective and efficient fulfilment operation.
